Leak up front HELP!

Hey, i have a leak up front near the drivers side half shaft coming out of the front diff....I took some pics, but it kind of looks like the leak is on top of the diff....but sometimes fluids do wierd things, i personally think its the drivers seal coming out of the case....

Let me know what you think!!!!

Rocky

This is a picture under the cooling fan, looking on top of the diff....

And just a quick snap of the truck..

Thanks in advance for the help...and if you think it is the seal, is it hard to change...

Rocky

Did you see the other post concerning a leaking differential? Maybe you can find something in there. I'm having a little trouble making heads or tails of those pictures though, sorry...

Clean it off completely (Simple Green Automotive would probably work well), then drive it around at slower speeds for a while and see if you can tell where exactly it is coming from.

Sorry but those pictures suck.. maybe one straight on from the ground and not upside down.. i cant tell wtf im seeing there.

Id clean it really good.. check to see the level of fluid in there.. maybe top it off.
drive it around the block a couple times and see if you can see whats going on.

Yes it's very possible that YOU TOO have a pinion seal problem. As Rand said the pictures suck but from what I see it looks A LOT like my differential when it was leaking.

Also as you said "but sometimes fluids do wierd things," it appeared to be coming from all over. SO like EVERYONE else said, clean it and observe again, probably pinion seal...
