Icon4 M5OD rough shift on rough roads, potholes, speed bumps

Hi all,

I've owned my truck for about a year now. Its a 2000 with 120'000 kilometers on it(im in Canada). Since I've owned it its had a very bizarre shifting issue. I have spent many hours on the web with not a single other mention of a similar problem. When I shift (into any gear) while driving on rough roads or over speed bumps etc I get a rough shift. In extreme cases it actually grinds quite badly (as if I hadn't pushed the clutch pedal all the way in). Even patchy paved roads will induce the behavior. It is totally different on smooth surfaces. So far I have just tried to shift when on a smooth patch, but it is this isn't always possible. The grinding is quite concerning and I'm also really curious as to what could cause this. As I said I haven't heard of any one else with a similar issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

thanks,

-mike
