Manual trans, Shifter shakes and rattles

I was driving to work this morming and I noticed that my shifter was rattling and making noise, first I thought it was the ball ( maybe it was loose ) but when I got to my work I noticed that was not the problem, so I went for a test drive ( I got to work early anyway ) well the noise is still there! what could it be,exhaust transfering vibration to the tranny ? and or ( thunderbolt dual exhaust mod) vibration to the shifter ( fx4 shifter mod )

I've had it for a while and I never noticed that, that's why I thought it could have been the exhaust, then again my radio is always blasting ! lol...

My shifter makes the same rattling noise. No one has been able to figure it out yet.

My stock shifter does that only in 3rd gear. Been doing that since day 1. Just a rattle.

my hurst rattles quite a bit, tried carpet underlayment and inner tube under the shift boot to muffle it a little. helps some, not as "tinney" now.
