Master Cylinder and Booster with brake upgrade
Master Cylinder and Booster with brake upgrade
Really not sure if this belongs here, suspension tech, or general discussion, but here goes.
This is going to be on a 1985 Ranger 2.3L A4LD that will be the future receipent of a 5.0L swap. My plans for this started many years ago with a truck going straight to the 5.0L, but that didn't work out and I've forgotten/lost a lot of the information I had figured out then. IIRC this started for me back on RPS, and all the notes I had disappeared with it.
This time I will be lowering the truck and doing a brake upgrade while it still has the 2.3L, so I want to verify what I remember and make sure its still applicable.
I have 1995-1997 Ranger dual piston steering knuckles and 1989-1997 DJM dream beams for lowering. I do not have stock brake components beyond a set of rotors for this setup. I do have some stuff for a Sport Trac brake conversion (12" rotor), or everything for a SN95 Mustang brake conversion (13" rotor). I will also be installing an Explorer 8.8 with disc brakes.
Way back when I was planning to use these with a Explorer disc brake master cylinder and 1994 Ranger dual diaphram brake booster. Would those still be approprate to use with the 2.3L? If not, what should I use?
I suppose my main concern is the brake booster. Will it work ok with the smaller engine, or am I better off using the single diaphram already in the 2.3L truck?
If anyone here has done the Mustang conversion on front, what did you use for brake hoses?
