So as the tittle says. Midas sucks. I have now been screwed by them twice. Well almost screwed the 2nd time.

1st time: I was on a trip, driveline went bad needed to be rebuilt and balanced. Cost me 685 dollars where as a new one was only 800. And i could have pulled one for even less but they took advantage of me cause i was on a trip.

2nd time: Was as some know my rear end was having issues and supposedly toast. And they wanted $$1936 to fix it. Well i took it to my mechanic who originally did the work and he said i will look at it and see what i can do.

Turns out it was just one bad bearing that needed to be replaced. My mechanic only charged me parts + 1hr labor. So total was $151. Midas charged me $136 to look at it. An hour of labor at $85 and the rest was in fluid for the rear. Yet my mechanic charged on 18 for the fluid not 60. I probably will never go to another midas again.

Midas is a rip off.

 

good thing you saved urself the second time cuz it would hae really sucked. they almost ripped me off when they wanted to charge me 400 for a flowmaster and i ended up getting a megnaflow exhaust and installed for 200 bucks.

 

I would be a little worried about only spending 18 on gear oil for the diff. You know the FX4 diff requires a synthetic oil that isnt cheap. I would make sure you got the right stuff. But yea, Midas sucks.

 

Come on man. Midas? They are as bad as Ammco, Pep Boys or Jiffy Lube.

 

11.71 for gear oil. and 7.89 for limited slip additive. its on the papers.
