Icon6 Mmmm Steering 14b

I'm tempted to do a front steering 14b.. Inner C's from Crane are $500 a pair, then knuckles and arms and studs etc are $1200 from them... then I still need shafts, gears and a locker.. Its expensive and would mean i dont wheel for probably a year, but its a front 14b.. it would badass!

discuss?

How big of tires are you going to run to require that? Sure it'd be pure beef, but seems like overkill. Granted this coming from the guy spending *** loads on a D44... so yeah... that shows what I know.

I've hardly spent assloads on the 44, point your finger at Zach for that.. All i have in it is gears/diff cover/warn premium hubs. no special shafts. no fancy knuckles. no high steer.

Overkill doesn't exist in my vocabulary.

14 bolts are ditch diggers. The differential is freakin' huge. Wouldn't be worth the coin either no matter how strong it is. Plus they already did it on extreme 4x4.

Shipping would kill the deal, I'd have to get at least 500 profit for me to let it go. Did just "acquire" an old YJ that may get that axle with a 14 bolt rear though...no way it's going in the Rubicon, that thing will stay on 35s and be my "weekend mid life crisis" vehicle til the day I die.....now a YJ that will reside on trailers (no roads) the rest of it's life, that just may get the 60 up front....

they're just 15x8 D window steelies. I can get some tonight if i remember. I have plans with someone i met last night..... but since she lives on the other side of town and traffic will be bad till like 7 or 8 i think I can squeeze some pics in. especially since work's dead I may leave at like 4.

I have the ones with circle windows on my truck but i think all of them have a little rock rash.

Cool I will probably just get them off you to use right now and get some better rims in the future. Well I need to see if Lee will bring them to Houston when he comes next week.

I'm sure he will. he works close enough worst case I'll just drop them off to him before work sometime. He's got my camping **** so maybe i can get him to swing by monday or tuesday.

And portals.. Portals open up a whole new world of hurt.. they may be badass but they're also a pain in the ***. I talked to one guy that had Mog Portals and he quickly changed my mind about running them. The aftermarket ones may be easier to work with and are probably stronger but still.

I would rather get hung up on a 60 and have to back up and smash into the rock a little harder than mess with setting up a portal axle.
