The most annoying squeak i've ever heard.

A little while ago my truck started making the most annoying squeak i've ever heard in my life. I narrowed it down to the end of the front axles where they meet the hubs. Whenever I spray some lubricant in there the noise goes away for a few days but comes back louder than before. What is making this noise and how do I fix it?

The main seal on the inside of the steering knuckle is dry and needs to be regreased or possibly replaced.

how much does this seal cost and how much of a pain the a** is it to replace? could that also be a reason why my 4x4 randomly doesn't work since i have vacuum hubs?
