Orientation of Synchro sliders in M5OD-R1HD transmission

A few years ago, I started this thread:

https://www.ranger-forums.com/drivet...eplace-168934/

I'm now rebuilding the original manual transmission that came with my truck (2006 XLT 4x4, 4.0L V6 engine), which I believe means it's the M5OD-R1HD. After I took it apart, I noticed the slider rings on the synchro assemblies aren't symmetrical, so they must be oriented a certain way when reassembling the transmission. I took a few pictures during disassembly, but this is a subtle difference, and I'm not 100% sure I can tell from my pics. Can anyone tell me how to make sure they're oriented the correct way, and if the same orientation applies to all 3 synchronizers? I have for Ford Workshop Manual for this truck, and it doesn't seem to call it out. I notices there's a small dot on one face of the ring, which I'm sure is means something for this.

Thanks for the help.

M5OD shop manual

Look for the link "Ford M5OD Shop Manual" on this page https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...se-driveshaft/
This is for a 1997 M5R1 but I think you'll find the transmissions are generally the same. There is information showing how the synchro hub parts go together.

Thanks! That diagram is super helpful, as is the rest of that manual. Much more userful for this task than the workshop manual for the entiretruck.
