problem applying power to the ground...
After wheeling this last weekend I seem to have a problem that i just cant figure out...
I am in 4Lo I take off to try and get up a hill... lots of wheel speed, lots of RPM, driving up the hill i get 1/2 or 3/4 of the way there wheel speed stops and the truck bogs down and even dies at times.
I cant figure out why it does this.
I have 4.56s and 35s, does it both in 4lo and 4hi, never had an issue in 2wd.
Other rangers with similar setups try it and they get tons of wheel speed, its like my power gets held up somewhere.
I am not sure its the tranny, had it apart this summer and everything looked good and installed some new parts, seals and shift kit.
It is almost as if the truck forgets how to down shift??
any help is appreciated, i need this fixed, it just ruins my fun. lol

does it lug or just no power? i would think if it was a fuel problem it would lug like it is starvin for fuel.... can't remember 5spd or auto, think auto... go try it again when it starts boggin stop hit neutral and peg the gas, if it still stumbles then it has nothing to do with 4wd i would think.... if it dies try to restart, if it restarts then i would think it isn't all the fuel sys...
but i'm a dumb redneck just what i would start with...

easy way to tell for the t-case...(maybe) 4-lo hubs unlocked... still turning the front shaft... maybe i dunno... t-case i woudl think there would be a noise... again grain of salt man, but that's a weird problem... maybe check your plugs and wires... maybe something a lil loose and under load the problem becomes more noticeable?

i would think... my buddy mentioned this...
the 3.0 no matter what you do is a gutless motor (my ranger has one, I know) even though you are runnin 4.56 with 35's in high traction hill climbs the motor just might not have enough *** to pull the tires.... another possibility, when i was whippin doughnuts a few months back i noticed if i slammed the truck into 2nd it woudl bog out (and this is in slick mud) are you runnin your truck in 1st or Drive? maybe the tranny is shifting and the motor bogs?

what motors, gears, tires did everyone else have?? **** my ranger has 5.13's and 37's and I want more gear, wish the previous owner had went 5.38 lol can't get enough!!!
But if the other guys had 4.0's they prolly wouldn't have the problem they have MUCH more power... but I have a feeling there might be an underlying issue somewhere, just not sure where or what man.. sorry i can't be any real help

i replaced the plugs when i did the headers this last summer. air filter is new, tcase and tranny fluid replaced this last fall. i can check the levels again.
i have the 4.0, kinda seems like you might be implying i have the 3.0? i know you have the 3.0.
i guess it could be wires. i have had the JBAs since like 30k miles. I am at 100k now

motor better not be gettin that weak!! clogged injectors? I'd do a fuel system check... got access to a fuel pressure guage? check the pressure at the fuel rail make sure you are gettin good pressure, then maybe run some injector cleaner in your truck, check plugs wires, sensors..... if it is boggin on flat ground something is wrong somewhere
