pulse vacum hublock question for 2000 ranger
I bought a 2000 ranger and figured it would have that pv hublock but when I took the center cap off it al looks like my 01 did. so am I correct in assuming someone already did away with it, which is what I was gonna do immediately anyhow?
You have a "Live Axle", Ford started using them on 4x4 Rangers as early as 1999, but full use on all Ranger models wasn't until 2001, so 2001 model year is designated as the "official" end of PVH and beginning of Live Axle.
But yes, someone else could have swapped front axles from a later model to rid themselves of PVH, but a more reasonable approach would have been to swap PVH for Rugged Ridge manual locking hubs, much less trouble.
So I would think your 2000 probably came from factory with Live axle setup
