Quick question. I am getting a rear axle from an Exploder. I know they came with drum brakes up until 96, then they changed to disks. Is there any years that I should stay away from?

And yes I have searched, I couldn't find anything specifically.

 

not that i know of its mosley the same axel for all years

 

Drums were up until '94. in '95, discs were added. all are 31spline. there aren't any off years that i know of. they're the same housing still offered on the Fx4 rangers.

 

Disc brakes in the rear are so nice. I would suggest you try and find one with disc's.

 

Not true, the Explorer axle is 1.5" wider than the one offered in the FX4.

 

*center chunk and outers are exactly the same. differnet widths. my bad.
