i am looking to put 4.10 gears in my ranger and i have a few questions.

my axel code is "f6"....what does that mean?

would DANA ring and pinions fit in there?

what would by the speed reading difference? (+,-, or = to now)

what gears do i have in there now?

Thank you

F6 =

Ford 7.5" (not Dana)
3.73 ratio
Traction-Lok limited slip diff

Assuming no other changes, the speedo would read 4.10/3.73 faster. That's 10% higher than before.

Google "7.5 Ford gears" and shop around. Here's one example:

in a foot note changing your gear ratio l should increase your torque but will effect your gas mileage in a negative way unless you have added larger tires. theres an eqation to get your final out put that takes in account tire size and gear ratio. May be someone will chime in with that formula.
