Rear End Issue - HELP
Rear End Issue - HELP
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger XLT Super cab 4x4. When you accelerate the truck starts reving but then about 1-2 seconds later there is a clunking in the rear like the rear just kicked in and it starts moving. When you stop you get the same clunking about 1-2 seconds after you take your foot off the gas.
The tranny was just re-built so it can't be that. It sounds like it is in the rear. Rear diff? axles?
Any suggestions?

sounds like it could be the trans. just cause it was just rebuilt doesnt mean its fixed. it sounds like the power is not being transferred from the engine to trans right away and then all of a sudden being thrown to the wheels
