Rough idle after head gakest replacement
Rough idle after head gakest replacement
Recently replaced the head gasket on my 2.3L 2008 Ranger it started up fine but when I stop it idles rough and the rpms are going up and down and it also shakes...any ideas ?
A lot of territory on that one, lol.
Warm up the engine and then let it idle
Unplug the 2 wire connector on the IAC Valve, it should then close and RPMs should drop, or engine may even stall, either is GOOD, it means no vacuum leaks
If RPMs stay up then there is a leak somewhere, start checking hoses, maybe something got missed.
I assume the engine runs fine and has normal power when driving?
PCV valve is a pain to get at on this engine, did you change it when doing this work?
