I was cruising on the highway at 45 and get on it nothing crazy just moderate throttle to pass some car and it just revved out. I coasted to the side of the road. Shut down and drove to the closest parking lot I could find. The trans will just rev and slightly move in DRIVE GEAR, REVERSE just revs, the only gears that move the truck are manual 2 and 1. trans fluid is red and does not smell burnt. The over drive light is flashing. I will post the video I made on my camera when I get in. Currently 50 miles from my place all highway with just second gear. Could it be a band? I can hear stuff spinning in DRIVE gear. I have a warranty but I would like to know ahead of time.

I gotta get it up there in the morning. as of right now
Drive does not work with overdrive on
Drive with over drive off does work cruising but not from a stop
Reverse is gone
So from a stop i shift 1, then 2 and push OD off then go into drive with OD off and its fine

if it holds in drive while your moving its gotta be something with the torque converter since its only requiring low numbers once your at speed but i find it weird it works in 1st and 2nd from a stop

You really need to cut your losses and get something else. Even a bicycle.

You are correct. There's just one thing stopping me. I LOVE MY TRUCK even though its a pain in the ***. Sure it's gonna go in the spring but I'll have a car till I'm out of school. I cant have a this truck in school. I do plan to get another ranger though after I'm out of school just 1 year from May 2012.
