Well that sounds like you grenaded a rear end to me. You can crawl under the truck and look for play in the U-joints first by moving the driveshaft side to side and up and down at each end and you'll know right away if you broke one. If not, I'd bet on a rear end gone bad.

Some particulars on the truck would be nice.Ya know like year, engine tranny,2/4 WD.
You could have a bad u-joint,a dislodged brake pad,in the case of an auto tranny the flex plate may be broken. The posibilities are numerous.

Does the driveshaft have what looks to be a harmonic balancer toward the front ?These have a bad habit of the steel ring separating from the rubber.

I don't think think it looks like a harmonic balancer but the bearing is towards the front and the bearing seized and spun inside the rubber bushing it was held in. It was a very easy fix i did it on the floor in my garage.
