shifting

shifting

my tranny will not shift right untill I let off the gas and then it will shift untill I stop.
sometimes it will shift ok and some times not.it is a 4.0 v6 4x4 off road .the od light is flashing.

sounds like a valve body inside the trans. Just a guess though based off the limited info

my buddy had this problem with his ranger and it was only a shift solonoid

Don't assume anything about an electronic automatic. Too many possibilities. Get the Diagnostic Trouble Code(s) pulled. The flashing O/D OFF light is telling you that at least one transmission DTC is stored in the PCMs memory.
