slave cylinder

has anybody here had to replace their slave cylinder because the clutch was squeaking when you pressed it? I had mine replaced like 3 months ago and I was told by the dealership that this doesn't hurt anything on the transmission, it's only anoying more that anything. I just wanted to make sure that this was true? I have a 07 Ranger. thanks

clutch pedal was squeeking?? WD40 on the hinge? Never heard of a slave making noise, other than the built in throwout bearing making noise....but that's not a squeeking noise.

yeah at the time I had it checked out (since it's on warranty) and like you said I thought it was like all I need is like WD40 or something, but they replaced the slave and it stopped, but sometimes I almost feel like I can hear it again when it's wet.

Spray where? You don't want WD40 and the like on your disc.

so is true what the dealership said about that even there's some squeaking that it wouldn't do any damage to the transmission? thanks

yeah it's probably something else, not a big deal really, I was just wondering if anybody else had a similar issue.
