Hey guys...
Just dropped the transmission to replace the slave cylinder in my 2000 manual ranger. The hydraulic slave cylinder has a small thin throw out bearing on the end of it...but just purchased a clutch kit and it has a throw out bearing assembly that looks quite a bit different than the one we took off...which one has any of you guys used? Which one works better?

The throw out and the slave should be integrated into one unit. No way to change one w/o the other....and there is no way in hell you shold change the throwout w/o changing the slave!

 

Make sure you got the right part. If it's different than the original, it probably wont work right.

 

they are not just one peice they are 2 seperate parts but they both should be replaced at the same time like buckgnarly said

 

you can change the bearing push down on the spring and take off the little clip thats holding it. ive used both of em thay both last about the same amount of time their ok bearings

 

the one we took off seems like its a far superior bearing...the part we got from Oreilly's has a closed bearing that seems like it's a lot cheaper

 

so we aren't sure if it even makes a difference...any thoughts?

 

go buy a slave cylinder, itll come with the throwout bearing. did my clutch last year, didnt do the slave cylinder. two weeks later pulled it back out to put the slave cylinder in
