Slave Cylinder Replacement

This if my first time posting something here and i just wanted to share a few things that i thought may help someone in the future. for a while now i've been having trouble with my hydraulic clutch, i would have to pump it vigorously to get it to work well. then on friday night it finally went i lost all the hydraulic fluid i managed to get the truck home in first gear (i had to start in gear without a working clutch) after reading several other posts and watching tons of videos i decided to tackle it today. with the help of my dad we got the truck up on jacks as high as we could. i found a really useful step by step process on how to change the slave cylinder. (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you...#ixzz1lQTr48kG)
everything went well and was pretty easy to figure out, i started having trouble when it came to the "quick" release. my truck has a new transmission so whomever took the hydraulic line off before me mashed up the end of the plastic sleeve so when i tried to use the tool that come with the new cylinder to push the sleeve in it wouldn't work my dad and i cut the screw off a hose clamp with some tin snips and then cut it to size so that it would fit around the brass fitting then used some needle nose pliers to hold it shut then put the tool on it and taped it with a hammer (having two people really helps). we managed to get the hydraulic system out (including the master clutch cylinder and reservoir ) so that we could bench bleed it. now were at the point of taking off the exhaust and drive shaft, the drive shaft was easy but the exhaust is a pain we've been using pb blaster a torch and a impact air gun. that all we were able to accomplish today if anyone has any advice or would like to know how we did something feel free to ask

thanks -joe
