Snapped cv axle.

Broken cv axle sheared with the splined shaft still in the hub. Driveable for now? If the splined shaft keeps the rollers in place (from my understanding) then the only thing I have to worry about is the axle flopping around.

Not sure on that

If its sheared off at the wheel then that axle will want to spin when other connected axle is turning, OPEN differential, see if you can tie off the broken axle so it can't spin, maybe vise grip tied to cross member????

Assuming 1998 or up Ranger, it used CV joints, info here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...a_35_sla.shtml

I could just take it out. Lots of posts recommend against driving with a bad cv, but since the splined sheft is still in place I figure it would be alright for a few days if I cover the openings to keep crap out
