traction loc compatibility

i am thinking of up grading to a traction lock since there is no cure for shot spider gears so are there diffrent years or gear ratio traction loc for the 8.8
like only certain one fit certain ratios??
and would this ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ford-...spagenameZWDVW )
fit my 97 ranger 2wd 8.8 and 28 splines
i have asked him what year it was and i am awaiting a response
thanks

That one will work fine, but you should probably ask the seller how many miles it has on it. If it has more than 20-30 thousand on it, I'd recommend a rebuild. You can find the rebuild kits all over ebay.

BUT.....if it needs a rebuild (roughly 20,000-30,000 miles) then just buy a new one....i got my Ford Racing limited slip (same as in the auction) for $215 shipped from Summit....

also can you run synthetic oil with the traction loc?
i know you have to put an additive in for the clutches

synthetic oil is fine....and you wont have to add any clutch additive in if you use full synthetic...
