Did the expo 8.8 swap
so i finished my expo swap it wasnt to bad. my only problem is when im going about 40 and up it sounds like the driveshaft is shaking. I did everything correct with the pinon angle and shock tab angles. also driveshaft is tight. I have no idea what it could be maybe my imagination cause im not use to the 8.8 yet. any ideas?

could have gotten a bad rear end. pull the drive line and turn the pinion flange to check in play... i cant say how much but it cant be a whole lot. pull the cover and check the gears them selves. its possible you may have a bad bearing as well.
is the shaking at a certain speed or is it progressive with more speed more shake?

Get a magnetic dial indicator and check your backlash. I can't remember the proper backlash spec at the moment...but check it out.
How are the spider and side gears? Could have a possible bad pinion bearing. Could be a bent axle shaft or wheel flange, which in turn took out a outer shaft bearing.
Do you know how many miles were on that rear end? If you have excessive backlash, it can be saved by moving the ring gear closer to the pinion gear. but if you can't get it tightened up, you may need a new r&p. And with that, you need a complete set of bearings and seals, as well as a possible professional gear install job. I know when I was going to put in a heavily used expo, I was going to drop it off to my axle guy to check and make sure everything was in spec before I started cutting and welding on the axle, then eventually installing the axle.
