Okay everyone I have a 88 Ford Ranger 5 speed with 2.9 V6 4X4 and the other day I took my wife to the laundry mat and while she was washing clothes I decided to go wash my truck now just a heads up that I was having NO issues at anytime... On the way to the car wash all of a sudden it would not switch into 3rd gear... I have 1st,2nd,4th, and 5th but I dont have 3rd... One person said it was a sensor on the side of the transmission and another said it was the
Synchronizer‎... Does anyone have any ideas I dont have the money to guess with this... Can I continue driving it like this? Please Please help

 

you should be able to drive it normal like this i dont know about with it being such a small motor but in my 06 4.0 5 speed heck i can go from 1st to 5th when im looking to leave black marks.
i would just drive it like normal and just skip 3rd gear and take it around to some different shops to make sure that one isnt just gonna stick you with a BS name and big price tag
