Alright, I was getting on my truck one day full throttle and a car pulled infront of me so I let off. I got in the other lane and got maybe 3/4 throttle now and my power just dies, but my rpm's stay at about 2,500. Then it slowly but steadil goes up to 3,500 before I let off, still no power to wheels. It vibrated real fast and was loud. I coast for about an 1/8th of a mile and then push lightly on the pedal and everything was fine after that. Anybody had this experience? Also, I'll be going slow up to 55 and my tranny never shifts so it stays at about 3,500 rpms until I push the OD button then click it back on. 2005 Edge 3.0 5 spd auto

 

my trucks have done this but only at 93 MPH, is it possible you were going that fast????

if not i would talk to some of the super techies about a governer/rev limiter problem


thats my best guess, but if i where you, just stay off the stupid pedal and you should be fine

 

haha sounds like a govenor..but it shouldnt be doing that..how many miles? change the fluid sounds like it may be low ..

 

No, I wasn't going 90, it was more like 40. The truck is a 2005 with only 19,700 miles and fluids have been changed in the past month. And I do try to stay off the pedal but sometimes if I'm in a hurry to get somewhere it seems like everyone wants to get infront of me and go 5 under the speed limit in the fast lane, so I go around.

 

check the fluids make sure there up..
