What is a average trans temp? My truck is any were from 160-175.

Under normal driving conditions my trans temp is anywhere from 150-165 depending on the temp outside. From what I remember reading those temperatures are fine.

It got up to 185 today going through some hills. Whats the danger zone for temp?

highest i've been up to was at the sand dunes it went up to about 195, and when i tow my boat its about 170 to 185

Those are typical temps on the Ranger, that's fine.
The absolute highest my sport trac ever saw was towing a 6x14 enclosed trailer (packed to the ceiling) through the mountains in Wyoming. I think it peaked out at 210 as I crested the mountain.
