Icon9 Transmission bolt has me defeated...

Hi guys. Well, after 325,000 miles, I've had my first major failure on my Ranger -- the clutch went out. Yep -- 325k miles on the original clutch.

This weekend i got a replacement and started to install it and i hit a big roadblock.

Everything went smoothly at first. i for the driveshaft out, the starter out and everything disconnected from the transmission. However I'm stuck getting the upper-most bolt on the driver's side out. I've tried a 3/8" breaker bar on the end of a long extension, but couldn't break it loose. I've tried an impact wrench on the end of the same extension, but it wouldn't budge. i even removed the driver's side inner fender and tried to get a wrench in there but there's not enough room to exert enough force to break the bolt loose.

Anyone have any clever ideas to get this thing out? It's the only thing keeping me from getting the transmission out and the clutch/flywheel replaced.

This is kind of urgent since this is my daily driver.

Sorry, no idea except to use a bigger breaker bar.

The only thing I could think to help would be keep soaking it with penetrating oil and keep working it with the breaker bar ( both ways tightening and loosening it to break it free. Most likely rusty )

Use a six point socket and apply more pressure, larger drive, larger breaker bar... wrench... Air gun.
I think it is just the right tool to get the job done.
Good Luck
