transmission help

transmission help

i got a 88 ford ranger doning the swap to a 302 i got a t-5 but i have used a bell housing form a 78 mustang 2 because its the 10"clutch and the bell housing it smaller but my ??? is the ranger was hydraulic and now its a cable but the clutch cable will not work with the clutch pedal what clutch pedal can i use plz help

The ranger never had cable clutch so nothing will be a bolt in swap. Depending on how handy you are with fabbing parts you can adjust the stock pedal assembly to use a cable operated clutch. But i have heard there are issues due to lack of rigidity in the firewall so that will have to be reinforced as well as making sure the cable doesn't rub anywhere (tight spaces and I've heard horror stories about rangers with them). there is a simpler solution and there is a thread for it here i don't have the link but i do have a pic. A lot of guys chose to convert it to hydraulic it can be done with a simple bracket an off the shelf hydrulic piston and heavy duty spring to take the place of clutch cable. It looks like this pic below

This is the setup and the thread has lists of connections so that it works with your factory master cylinder.
