Transmission Issue
I have an 03 ranger 4.0 auto tranny
So like three weeks ago I was out driving around(about a 30 mile trip). I stopped at a buddy's house(for literally 2 minutes) and when I left the tranny didn't want to shift from 1st to 2nd. It wasn't like a slip... It just bogged down like I was at the rev limiter. I was low on gas at the time so I stopped and threw a couple gallons in. Started the truck back up and it was fine.
It happened again today... same thing I drove home from work(about 50 miles), stopped at the grocery store, started it up and started driving. When I got out on the road, I wouldn't upshift to 2nd. I put it in nuetral for a second and back into drive and it was fine again...
I am planning on taking it to a friends tranny shop next week but I wanted to know if...
Anyone else have this problem before?
Is this common in rangers or similar models?
By the way the fluid was fine.
