I'll try my best to be brief.
My 98 4.0 automatic started slipping out of drive. Did some research. Put a quart of luid in the transmission because the dipstick was dry. It seemed to work and I thought I fixed it. Until I realized transmission fluid was shooting from the front of the truck and dripping into the pavement right under the radiator fan. It's been really cold here for the last week or so, I'm not crawling under it until I know what to look for.
It ran well for about four or five short trips around town.
