I have a 03 Ranger 4.0 4x2, the transmission was replaced about a year ago.
So 2 days ago went to start the truck and the battery was dead, jumped her and it started no problem. Went to shift into gear and she jumps and snatches especially into reverse. When you press the gas she barely moves, won’t rev above 3k rpms. If you keep your foot on the floor she’ll eventually get up to speed then drives fine.
Checked the battery at Napa and it had a dead cell, so we replaced with a new one. Same problem. The O/D light is also flashing. Hooked the scanner up to it and it threw every transmission code it could. Tech suggested it was something electrical. Transmission fluid is at normal levels.
Was as advised to check for blown fuses, didn’t find any. Also suggested it could be a clogged cat converter or fuel filter, checked those and they’re both fine.
Does anyone else have any idea what could be wrong and if so how to fix it? Really trying to DIY and avoid putting her in the shop. Thanks!

In engine fuse box, pull out and TEST fuse #41, 20 amp, don't just "look at it" test it or swap it out
That fuse powers the 6 solenoids in the transmission, if it was blown all the solenoids would set codes
If fuse is OK then get under the truck and pull off the 16 pin connector from transmission, drivers side just in front of shifter, make sure there is no corrosion, put it back on and make sure its tight
And just a heads up, if a transmission shop only does a "soft parts" rebuild(clutches and bands) then transmission would only last 12 to 18 months, rebuild should always include new front pump, BOTH one-way clutches(sprang clutch) and OD drum(if out of round)

The fuse was it!! Much thanks man. That truck was about to run us crazy.
