Transmission question

So there is a guy thats wants to trade me a 94 with a 4.0 and a 5 speed and he says it whines when he drives what could that be? pilot bearing? bad synchro?

could be the famous ford power steering pump, depending on the whine

Or input, counter shaft bearings.

Hopefully its the power steering. I am meeting him tomorrow so I'll take some pics.
