truck has a kinda grinding noise
hey guys, so driving down the road my truck will make like a low pich grainding sound. The drive shaft also hits the metal shield on the gas tank, the transmission seems like its centered, but the drive shaft doesn't look straight. Its done this since the engine swap but the ginding sound is new, and it vibrates the whole floor board. Its an 89 2wd. four cylinder. Any ideas? Thanks guys.
It did go mud bogging when I was young and dumn fist its realy been driven since I replaced the motor, and how can I tell if it was put in right, I put the spline in and alinged the same four bolts it was in before, I tride spining it around and tried every bolt pattern to no availe.
What you are looking for is to make sure your transmission mount is broken because if it is, the tailend of the tranny will move left or right. The tranny mount is made of metal and rubber like a motor mount and is bolted to the tranny and the crossmember. It should not move at all.
