Icon9 truck no go...

well my trans lost reverse.... i got out of my truck to look for it but i think its playing hide-n-seek in the bottom on my trans...haha. but really i knew it was gonna go sometime i was just hoping it would out last the 3.0. I tried to drive it home but when my buddie towed me out of my friends drive way, the rear tires were locking up while it was in nutral. so in the street i put it in 1st and drove it slowly and it was making a horrible grinding/draging noise, and then randomly it would like lock up.... so my buddy got his car trailer and got my truck home... sad ending to fun day of dirtbiking, im just glad my truck didnt decide to break while i was all the way up in lake geneva. trans had 213,000 on her, 5 speed manual.

That sucks man, I thought the tranny would last forever! Haha, you did beat the hell out of it, good thing it went where it did and not miles into the woods.

Ugh... never a good thing when your tranny goes... But hey! It can be rebuilt! Especially since its a stick! I rebuilt a few and they are cake compare to auto transmissions.

my 4.0 tranny did the same when i lost 3rd. i was slowing down coming into a town, downshifted and it just locked up. it would roll a little, then lock up. sat in a parking lot overnight and picked it up the next day. drove it up on the trailer, but it wasn't happy.
