There is a TSB out to ONLY USE Mercon V, and NOT to use the multi-purpose ATFs!

I would say the cut cooler tube is a fatality of doing your body lift.......

I highly doubt that since the cooler and lines aren't mounted to the body so they don't move when you do a body lift.

No I'm pretty sure Bob is right, when I lifted the body it pulled the lines tighter than normal and I didn't move it so it was loose enough. Oh well live and learn, the bumper is right in the way of the hose I need to take off so i have to find some way around it.

Oops, that sucks. Hopefully it will be fine when re-filled as long as it wasn't driven like that much.
I watched a buddies superduty transmission overheat when offroading in the Nevada desert (at around 8000 feet). Dumped a ton of fluid out before we noticed it on the trail.
We added a ton of fluid to it, and all was fine again after that.

Great news Trent! When you dropped the pan, was there much debris on the magnet in the pan?

I just flushed mine a couple weeks ago, and the pan, and magnet were clean at 166K miles, the last time I flushed it was at 84K.

That's good! How many quarts did it take, about 5 to fill it back up?

Yep it took exactly 5.

So talked to my mom and looks like I'm going to be getting the truck in trade in condition.

You transferring the F90 to your new truck . . . ? Glad you got it figured out, I was thinking the fluid level was the culprit.

I know that I got a full size cause I actually do need one. The Ranger is just not big enough for work and my lifestyle.

Yeah 4 door is a necessity. I looked at the Chevy's but they just don't do it for me.

x2.
I really hate those trucks with a passion. I hate the way the look, drive, feel. I hate the (lack of) ground clearance, weak front suspension, blah blah blah...

Not to speak for everyone else, but I just needed more room. I'm getting the same fuel economy with 35's as I did with 33's on the ranger at the sport trac. I have four real doors, seating for 4-5 adults without having to eat the dash to get the rear seat legroom, can haul and tow significantly more weight when I need to, get better ride/handling, and I'm pretty sure the turning radius is even less. Atleast it feels like it. It's not hard to park or maneuver in tight spots either.
The only thing that I feel like I lost is the "smallness". The ranger and sport trac got around well off road because they were smaller, but I think the F150 will do just fine, only with a bit more "pin-striping". I would like to get another ranger/explorer/BII some day for playing around off road, but it wouldn't do me much good where I live right now.
