Winding Noise In Low Gear
Winding Noise In Low Gear
I just picked up a 92 Ranger for my son. Runs real good. There is a noise that concerns me. When you have it in low gear there is a winding noise that sounds like the tranny. Is this common in the older cars? Thanks I am new to the forum!!! Hello Everbody

welcome, and my '03 when in 4low makes that noise, well I don't know if it makes the noise your talking about, but I think its because of the gear ratio, don't quoet me on it. does it slip any or is the transfer case or transmision leaking. oh also if you try to go too fast in 4low it will make weird noises, and don't use 4low in drive if auto, only use first or second. hope I helped some. if I think of anything else I'll tell ya.
Welcome back at you. It sounds like the winding noise is fairly common. Like I said I just given the ranger for my son. I will keep it when he buys something newer.Seems to run pretty good for a 92.I had a problem with air in the brakes. The container was low.No signs of fluid anywhere but it lasted a year.
