Worth it?!?

Guy has an expo axle, disc brakes, cleaned up w/ a powertrax locker. He says he's wanting $300. I think I could talk him down to $200- $250. What do you think, worth it?

Junkyards around here are wanting around $100 an axle. I've seen the lockers on ebay for $100-$150. Thanks for your opinion.

I dont like the 3.73, but other than that it seems like a nice find. Low ball him and see what he says.

I've got gears for it. I'm gonna swap my 4.56s for 4.88s and use them.

I could probably resell the 3.73s somewhere.

Might as well jump on it of you've got the green and the welding equipment to do it.

If you are the one who is going to install the gears and weld the brackets on then I'd do it. If not I'd pass, unless you know someone who can do the welding and gears for cheap or free.

I have 4.10's stock. But I plan on running 4.88's.

I can do the welding. The swap kit is $120 and I would probably get the cover too, which is another $95. I will have someone else do the gears. I've had some offers from local guys. But I might just get it done at East Coast Gears so I can get their warranty.

So I'm probably looking at about $400-$450 to get the axle right (axle itself, brackets, and cover). Then another $700 to regear and setup locker, if I bring the truck with axles under it.

*Checks wallet*

well its a used locker, and your gutting it anyways, why not buy a junk yard rear end, strip it, re-gear it, locker it ( with a new locker- one that has warranty) and slap it in there..done and done, take th front out and get the same thing done to it
