its the biggest pain in the but job i have ever done. good luck!

you have to keep wiggling it around and twisting to get it out. sucks. it helps if you have the ford tool to remove the tie rods from the rack itself.

Shop manual says to shove it all the way to the passenger side then pull then pull it out of the drivers side in front of the crossmember. not sure if that makes sense. Hold on.

Edit:
Sorry the shop manual is huge and doesn't fit in my scanner well.

ya i finaly got it. so pretty much u have to take off the driver side tierods. pry on the clamp that holds to boot on or cut it until it pops. then turn the rack (easyest to push and pull on the arm rather than trying to turn the steerin thing) then use a breaker bar and take off the tierod. then u slide it all the way to the pass side and then pull the driver side out through the front of the cross member. btw u dont tilt it that far forward and u have to remove the sway bar if u havent already and also one of the lines on the rack itself to slide it enough to the pass side. (the one that runs all the way across it)
