Year's and compatibility M50DR1

I'm wondering what other years the transmission is compatible with my '93 ranger. Are all M50DR1 or just certain years.

M5R1 or M5OD-R1 was used in Rangers and Mazda B-series from 1988 to 2011
M5R1 is a "model" designation, not what it fits, like "Ranger" is a Ford model but doesn't mean it has a V6 or is a 4x4, just the "model"

M5R1 is made with bellhousing as part of its main case, so each case is made for a specific engine model
I.e. an M5R1 from a 4.0l engine will NOT fit a 3.0l engine or a 2.3l engine, there is no adapter, it just will not fit
There are also 2WD and 4x4 M5R1s, so a 2WD M5R1 will not work in a 4x4 vehicle, and visa versa

1993 2.3l Ranger 2WD, would need an M5R1 from a 1988 to 1997 Ranger 2.3l 2WD, or a Mazda B2300 2WD

1988 to 1997 M5R1 2WD has the speedometer cable hook up needed in a 1993, 1998 and up did not

2002 and up 2.3l will NOT fit, its a different engine and has no speedo cable either
