I'd be interested to know what they did to register it. Although Texas has different laws.

Why does is say 03 and look like a 90's truck? And I like diesels but that motor doesn't spec out very well for power or at least that's what I read 135hp? That's less than 4.0 gas. Motor

They were a facelift behind us. That's why it looks like a 98-99 when it's a 2003

If I wanted to splurge I would seriously consider buying it. I bet that 2.8 sounds awesome. I'm sure they even having tuning for it. Parts would probably internet only for motor/drive train I'm sure. I bet it's a fun little truck to drive. All that low end tq in such a small truck.

I don't think it matters what the state law is if it doesn't pass EPA standards, also there would be issues with safety standards

x2. First crewcab Rangers were some sort of Frankesteins, mixing some Ranger parts from different generations.

Found a link from someone who imported a crewcab Ranger to US from Mexico. CLICK. Hope it helps somebody who might be interested in importing one...

Either way, if you don't like the front end just swap it to a newer one. Not a huge fan of the 98-00 front end but it's a great looking truck condition wise so I would just leave it.

98-03 Mexico and South American = 98-00 US and Canada

04 they revamped the Mexico and South American Rangers alongside the US and Canada models, with each having their own look and interior details. Such as 1 piece headlights, different valence, tailgate, flares, gauges, etc.
