Got it, needs a little TLC but mechanically ok.
Some blk paint or power coating and it will be as good as new.

Thks for the assist.

I contacted him asking for a delivery or near delivery, NOT !
Then I asked for a reduced price because of my 2.5 hr drive, wow $100… LoL, almost in his ear.

That drive seemed longer than the drive to NY; the little 3.0 w/33’s and 4.10s just doesn’t like hills. if the rpms were over 2500 it wasn’t too bad but lower than that and the truck almost stumbled over itself.

xp1ik99, thks man, I will ask the wife to comply.

When I picked it up !
Tight fit, but I think the side rail caps can move a little and that should do it, it will fit now with just little pressure, good tight fit isn’t a bad thing.

the painting will be a chore.

When I contacted Pro-Tech a while back, they had to custom make the Rack for a Steppie.
That’s why when you said you weren’t going to drive for it I jumped, I wasn’t going to leave it hanging and the price ended up far better than I thought it would.

nice! how about the 3rd brake light? I see it doesn't have the cut out. does it sit below the light?

NO, but I will be running two 4” LED Strips for “3rd Brake Light”, one on each side of the rack.
Two work lights in the underside of the upper corners and three antenna tabs on the top, then the paint.
The price dictated the buy, I will cope.

Wonder the best way to clean up aluminum.

Oh ya, the thing that got me when I picked it up was the weight… half the weight of the “BackRack”.

nice, that works. best thing to do to aluminum is to polish it but its going to be tough getting the mesh looking really nice.

Thought that way too, POLISHED ALUMINUM, remembered the Harley had one aluminum side cover and it polished up really nice, better than the chrome one.
Problem not only cleaning the mesh… PITA, but after cleaning it needs to be kept up, re-polishing.
One thing I learned from the Harley, too much shiny stuff is too much work when you want to ride.
KISS, is the only way to go when you are thinking Chrome pr polishing stuff.

At this time, unless I hear from someone otherwise, will be a lot of sanding, Metal Etching Primer and black paint, maybe a matching SEMs Paint or my fav DuPont to match the interior Semi Blk.
I think the paint will work out the best/cheapest/easier upkeep.

Maybe Shane or Tre will pop in with a suggestion, the Pro-Tech Racks are plentiful in the NW, I think that is where they are made.

Sde Note or Hidden Agenda: How’s school, almost done for the year or are you out already ?

If you want durable, you may want to use POR15 chassis paint. It will take abuse. I know El-Mar up in Haverhill carries it.

I'd get it soda blasted and powdercoated if you want to make it black just because it will last longer. My friend knows a guy that does soda blasting on the side and i know of a guy that does powdercoating for pretty cheap, I can try and get some prices. Semester is over today and finals start tomorrow thank god haha

The Hoop is approximately 50” bottom width, 40” top width, 24” high, and then there is the screening.
Tube is approximately 3” OD and the arms stick out approximately 18”.

Print a pic from the ad so they can see it.

Ltr, thks

p.s. I contacted the guy on the grille, asked for a pic of the front on, so I can verify it is the correct grille and I get nothing from them. Asked four time, sent an e-mail asking if they wanted to sell it or not.
Every-time I contact them by phone and ask for a pic I get, “ it wouldn’t go through”, funny how I get e-mail and pics from all over.
One more call then over… $75 for the insert isn’t bad.

More like 7x’s the price… If I remember correctly I got a quote of $850 for a steppie Rack, with a few accessories.
Trev’s stated price of $700 is about right.
SORRY…

theres another company that makes the exact rack for half the price. I'll find the link and post it later today, I'm on my phone.

I've written the dimensions down and I'll try to call the powdercoating guy later today too
