BW 1354 Manual Transer Case - MI - $300 OBO

Hey guys...

I have a spare BW1354 Manual t-case up for sale. It's out of a 91 Ranger that only had about 125,000 on it. It does not include linkage or shifters...I never had them. I'd like 300 OBO plus shipping. I've shipped one of these before and depending on where it's going, it'll be about 60 bucks or so. Send me your zip code for a quote. Let me know if you have any questions. PM me ("steev") or email stevenmckiernan(at)gmail.com. Here are some pictures.

And to show that it is indeed a BW1354...the tag from the case (broken off, but I know for a fact it is the tag...it broke off in my hand).

Then go buy one there.

I've seen them go for 275-300 on different forums many times. I sold one of these 2 years ago for 350.

Notice the "OBO"?

But thanks for your input.

Really.

Then you got a good deal. Congrats.

I'm not sure what my signature has to do with anything. Besides, your signature seems to list quite a few things you've done to your truck as well.

Why am I even replying to you?

Actually, That case thats listed in his sig is literally an auto converted to manual. It was not a swap. Its his original auto case that I custom built into a manual case that shifts with all stock components. I didnt cost him a dime. So I really dont think he got ripped off!!

Please post how this is done using stock components. If you came up with a way to make an electric case work with manual linkage you're going to be a very rich man.

NO, the case a 13-54 elec case with the 6 planet gear input. Its got a 1350 shift mechanism and aluminum 2-4wd shift fork ( not the plastic one used in the 1354). The front half had to be machined for the hole for the shifter linkage and drilled and tapped for the detent. the rear case half (on that one) is a 13-50 manual rear half. On the other one I built, I used the 1354 elec rear case and just drilled, tapped, and plugged the stock shifter shaft hole. I dont recall ALL of the details, as I built these cases, maybe, 5 years ago.

YES, I did come with a way to shift an electric shift 13-50 or 13-54 manually (from inside the cab, not underneath with a pair of pliers). BUT it costs too much to make, to be profitable. ( when the manual ones----
go for 100-150 tops at a junkyard?!!
)

OH, and just for the hell of it, I also built a "2 stick" 13-54 from an electric shift. (I dont like to call it a twin stick because you cant shift the front and rear outputs separately. One shifter is for high/low, the other is for2/4wd. )

Ha...thanks...I think it's officially hijacked at this point.

As for my transfer case, Kevin (snoranger) is 100% correct with his description of it. He built it, so he would know. I'm not sure why others feel the need to comment on the setup in my truck, considering they wouldn't know...since it's in MY truck and not theirs. But anyway...

As for all of the other "community watchdog" posts about how overpriced it is, while your input may be helpful, you could go about it in a different way. I know this may be hard for you to believe, but just because you bought something cheap doesn't mean that's what the going rate for it should be. I bought my 98 Ranger for 700 bucks. That doesn't mean that every 98 Ranger on the market should cost 700 bucks. It just means I got a good deal. I called a yard the other day about a transfer case out of a 2000 Ranger. They wanted 500 bucks for it. I felt that was overpriced, so you know what I did? I said "Thanks, but I'll pass". I didn't tell them that I knew a guy in Toledo that got one for 80 bucks. They wouldn't care.

If you want the case, make me an offer. That's why the title of the post, from the very beginning, has said OBO.

Sorry about that. I felt compelled to defend my custom "13-52" T-case.

You mean your case that doesn't exist because you didn't do a full write-up with 78 pictures, step by step instructions and 13 different posts to brag about it? Ha!

I've got no need to brag about it. I did it. I know it works. I know it can be done again. Its not that hard.

But it never happened because I have no pics. That's alright with me.

That was Downey that said that, thankfully few people pay attention to what he says.
