I've got a 2001 Ranger Edge step side with the narrower box. It's missing the tailgate's inner cover, so I ordered a new one. The website had a VIN verification, but for some reason, it was saying my truck had an invalid VIN (not that my truck wasn't compatible but that the VIN wasn't valid), so I just dismissed it as the website being broken. I bought the part anyways, assuming that it would be all good since I spent hours trying to find other inner panels shipped to Canada with no luck.
I assume that these panels fit all tailgates regardless of the tailgate width, but I want to have some peace of mind as I wait for the part to come in. Can someone confirm that these dimensions match a regular ranger (not step side)?
Measuring from screw hole to screw hole, it's 40 3/4\." Picture of the missing panel
I own both a Flareside (stepside) and a Styleside (Regular) Ranger. The panel you're inquiring about is around 50" on the regular Ranger, so if you ordered one for a regular Ranger, it's not gonna work without cutting it down, welding it, and maybe drilling new holes.
