Shaving Tailgate question

Shaving Tailgate question

I was thinkin today at work while i was makin a Dairy Queen sign

if you have a shaved handle on your tailgate..normally you relocate handle on the inside of gate..

what if you got a toneau (Sp?) cover?

then what do you in that situation???

but mine i gotta down the tailgate to loosen the cover...lol

You could rig it up like a shaved door, have a solenoid and a electronic latch mechanism. As far as how you would set it up, I have no idea.

When I had my gate shaved with my soft cover, I just poped two or three snaps by the handle and reached in and opened it, but that got to be a pain in the rear so I got a non shaved gate lol

now I have shaved gate with hard cover, so you can imagin how that works

ive got a shaved gate with hard cover, soon to be no cover


oh, and i pulled the stock handle and used the flip kit, now just gotta shave the tailgate itself

one more quesiton on shavin...

you know that body line on the upper tailgate..if you shaved that how would you do that..i think its to much for bondo..but weldin it will be kinda tricky...

input please


NEVER MIND..LEAVE THE BODY LINE TO MATCH THE REST OF HTE TRUCK..I DID SOME SEARCHIN ON CARDOMAIN...

well, to answer the question anyway, you want to fill it with metal, not bondo, bondo will just crack off with the weather


but heres an idea, shave Just the rear tailgate line, i have a pic

ewww custom...300 bucks to get a tailgate repainted i thought id would be cheaper...but oh well that will be a nice lil mod when i got the money layin around

getting anything paint isnt cheap


just gotta get a buddy at a paint shop and you can get a hood like mine for 80bucks

to bad the ****er quit and works at toyota now

i got a friend that owns a mechainc shop i asked him hes like yeah i know a few but they all owe his shop tons of money so thats out of the question..i guess im searchin for new friends

i wanna shave my tailgate BAD
