2005 to OLDER style headlight conversion

Before I go out and actually spend money and bolt parts on....

I'm really not digging the options out there for custom headlights for the 05 style front end, so I am thinking about just jacking the front piece from an older ranger (with better headlight options) and bolting it up.

Does anyone know of any issues I may have?
Will I need to replace the fenders as well?
how diffrent are the bolt paterns?
is there anything I should know before undertaking this project?

I dont mind a bit of modding here and there but if I am going to have to whip out the sawz all, I'd rather just deal with what I ahve and wait patiently

I have not seen any rangers in the pick and pull that fir the year I am going after (late 90-s to early 2k) so I can get a nice projector beam going on for measurements.

I

I want to move to a nice projector beam style headlight, which they dont make with the current style for 2005

what is involved or is a straight swap?

You'll need 98-00 header panel, 98-00 headlamps, 98-00 grille, 98-00 corner/signal lamps, 98-00 headlamp retainers.

I think it would be badass to take a 2001-2006 4.0 Reg Cab with a wrecked front and replace it with a 93 Splash front..

None, the projectors you see on Fleabay are just after market junk. If you want something worth getting, you are going to have to get it off a Lexus or a vehicle that came with them from the factory. Then you will have to mod your headlights to accept it. Alot of work, but probably worth it.

I have a friend who has done that once, but I dont think it was something as drastic as it would be to convert ranger headlights...

I love my truck but hate the front end.

I could just get a roll bar and some KC lights, but I cant seem to find a roll bar that really conforms to the theme I am going after. I also cant find one that costs 100$ and I have no fab skills =)
