Both rocker panels on my '00 ranger are smashed in, bad.

Rocker panels on the cab: cut out old, weld/glass/bond in new aftermarket replacements. Only real way to fix them right.

Fx4wannabe01, yeah...thats what I was thinking but I was just curious if there was an easier quicker way. oh well. I knew this thing was going to be a long project when I bought it.

yeah, thats for sure.

dunno, haven't driven it much since I got it since it needs so much work. dont wanna break anything else. :P

i dont think its the cab mount though, i think the bed is just bent upwards a bit. you could be right though, i'll check it out when it stops pouring out.

wow that truck has major issues... time for the frame jig

Look at this pic how the cab and bed meet at a V instead of straight and the bed is kicked out...

wow...talk about pancaked rockers.

You gotta cut those out and order some new ones from certifit or whoever carries OEM replacement panels.

I say just cut them off then build some sliders outta some rectangular tubing and mount them so they sit where the rocker panels used to be, that way you wont have this problem in the future. I saw it done over on TRS and it looked pretty slick!

What places have frame jigs?

Carl, I'd be down to meet up but my truck is sitting for the next two weeks due to a loud clunking sound coming from the driveline. Gotta save up some money to get it all sorted out.

Kyle, yeah...thats a damn good idea. To hell with replacing the panels. I'll just cut them off and build some sliders to take their place. :D

I would build built in sliders. It would be much easier and a lot stronger. You wouldn't have to worry about smashing them.

Get some new U-Joints - sounds like its wrapping up a bit under there if its a clunk when your stopping/starting; quick hour long project give or take to pull out the driveshaft and swap out some joints :-)

For U-Joints the 'expensive' greaseable ones are only like 12 bucks apiece or so if I remember right, the heavy duty ones.
