Behind Grille

There's been talk of our folks and I moving out of my current city and going elsewhere, preferably somewhere more rural.

If that ever happens, I'm going to need my highbeams to actually highbeam. My LED kit, for some reason, just doesn't output more light in the highbeam mode going upward, just off to the far sides.

So not ditching this kit, so if we ever do move, I'm going to roundabout fix this problem by installing some really bright spot lights behind the grille. I've seen many a person do this with 01 to 03 rangers, but not one 98 to 2000. I've also never seen a how to for even installing them behind the grille.

I've looked at my father's 03 and my 99's grille, behind it to be precise, and I only see plastic that's not too sturdy for this type of thing. So how are people doing this?

Btw, as an added note, I thought about doing something similar in nature to what Chrisfix did with his 'project night light' series, unfortunately my stepside doesn't have any stakes. That being said, I could figure something out but I'd rather take this approach if I can.

The thing I've always suspected between the 98-2000 style grilles and the 01-03's is that the 01-03's probably have more space to work with behind them due to the nature of the design.

I've only ever seen lights of this nature behind the grille used with the honeycomb grille.

Funny thing is, on my father's 03, it appears to be the same flimsy plastic shroud mine has. A brace of some description would be mandatory, you'd think.
