Bent Bumper - Need some advice

Hi,

I was just hit by another driver and it bent the front left part of my bumper in along with denting the fender. I'm wondering if I can hammer the bumper straight myself. I'm not looking to get it pristine, just to push the bumper back out away from the tire. I've attached some pictures. Let me know what you think.

Thank!

You can try. That or a chain and have someone who won't rip off your bumper give it a tug with another truck

yah just attach the chain, prolly put a piece of webbing aroudn the bumper or whatever. Attach the chain aroudn a tree. Drive away slowly. If someone else with a bigass truck drives away from you they're gonna give too much gas and tear it off lol. **** happens like that.

do you or a buddy have a come-along? thats how i would do it.

Find a concreted pole or an object you can strap too that wont move and crank that B***h till it bends back out

I thought about that. Believe my dad has a come-along. Will it work from the side as the truck is pictured rather than the front. Only the left side is bent.

oh heck yeah. Things like this (DIY jobs) are dangerous if done wrong.

With that in mind tie the comealong to something beyond sturdy. like a tree or telephone pole. wrap the other end very carefully and strategically around the bent side and LAY A TOWEL OVER BOTH ENDS!!!! and crank slowly and steadily. try to not jerk or twist the line and it will do just fine. you may want to wrap a towel around the bent bumper as well to avoid scratches and the comealong cutting into your bumper...be safe and keep all body parts
