Can anyone confirm the rear bumper pad is identical (except color) for a 1997 & 2005 Ranger? I need to be sure a 2005 bumper pad will fit on a 1997 bumper before ordering the pad online. Thanks.

For anyone still wondering, a 2005 bumper pad will fit on a 1997 bumper w/o any changes. The 97 bumper bolts right up to a 05 truck too. I confirmed this today on my 05 using my old 97 Ranger's rear bumper. I did this because the 05 had a dent in the bumper when I bought it and my 97 had a roll pan so I had a spare bumper.

 

*****It depends on what bumper is on the '97. They had two different style bumpers. Here's a comparo between the two styles......

Both trucks are '01 model year, but I believe 95+ had these same two styles depending on what trim level. The basic old school is on the right, the current style on the left......different bumper pads......

 

Mine had the style on the left. Was the one on the right on XL models?

 

yes.....newer(up to 02 I believe). But i have seen 98-00 sports with the same bumper colormatched to the truck.
