Black valance, bumper pad, and Level II hooks

I have been thinking about this for a while, but I am thinking of doing it now. I really want to change out my front grey valance and back grey bumper pad to a black valance. Then add 02-04 lvl II hooks. Anyone tried putting on the level II hooks and how much modding they had to do to get them to work?

you just have to notch the bumper. if you get a LVL2 black plastic bumper it is already done.

04 LVL2 have black front plastic not light grey

Ok so if I get a 04 lvl II valance I wont have to cut anything. But wont I have to use the square fogs. I would rather get a valance to use my round fogs.

Actually i think the 03 is black.

here is bobs, if you look in that last picture you can see the valance is notched just under the bottom part of the hook.

The 02 FX4's were black with the round fogs. Mud was extra.

If you want a black one with tow hook notches, look for an 02 fx4 or 03 level 2 front valence. That's your best bet. Otherwise you can get an 01-03 black one and notch it yourself. All of these will have round fogs.

paint an edge to match and just use a dremel to notch for the hooks.. i like the color matched valances much better then grey/block plastic

whats the great difference between the lvl2 hooks and the regular hooks? our 02 has double loops, but instead of being vertical like that, there horizontal. thanks.
